Nari Park
Landscape as living infrastructure that organizes the territory, connects people, and brings city and nature closer together
At Parque Nari, PLANTAR was responsible for the conception of the landscape masterplan and the public-use spaces, structuring a strategy capable of transforming the development into a living territory where nature, mobility, and urban life are intertwined. The project begins with a careful reading of the place and the construction of an everyday landscape capable of organizing the collective life of the neighborhood. Rather than simply designing green areas, the proposal establishes a continuous system of public spaces, connecting streets, parks, and plazas into a network of walkable and bikeable paths that structure the urban experience.
The landscape design organizes the neighborhood through green axes, shared paths, and gathering spaces, promoting multiple scales of social interaction. Bike lanes, tree-lined sidewalks, and permeable pathways were conceived to encourage active mobility and stimulate the daily use of open spaces. The botanical strategy reinforces the identity of the territory. Street tree planting was designed as a structuring element of the urban landscape, using native and tropical species that produce seasonal cycles of color and shade, creating recognizable streets and more comfortable environments throughout the year.
The project also incorporates urban orchards, sensory gardens, and spaces for staying and gathering, bringing nature closer to everyday life and encouraging more direct relationships with natural cycles.
Throughout the neighborhood, different equipment and furniture elements were designed to activate the public realm: playful areas inspired by Brazilian fauna, fitness structures, pet-friendly spaces, and meeting places that expand the possibilities of use throughout the day. The open space system is complemented by a central park and interconnected green areas, forming a landscape infrastructure that organizes the territory, enhances the urban experience, and contributes to the environmental balance of the development.
Through this approach, Parque Nari emerges as a neighborhood where landscape is not merely a backdrop, but an active structure of urban life—capable of fostering encounters, encouraging sustainable mobility, and strengthening the relationship between city and nature.
