Public Gardens: Where the City Breathes and Life Happens

Public gardens are more than green areas; they are territories of coexistence. In the dense urban fabric, they represent the vital interface between the city and nature, acting as lungs that regenerate the environment and as refuges that restore people.

At Plantar, we believe landscaping is the tool to transform these areas into living systems. Designing a public garden means weaving relationships, creating spaces that balance ecological function with human warmth.
Typologies: From the flowerbed to the square Urban greenery manifests in different scales, from micro to macro, but always with the purpose of connecting:
• Square-garden (Praça-jardim): The heart of the neighborhood. Designed to be a place of permanence, where trees and furniture invite conversation and active leisure.
• Streetbeds and Pathways: Green corridors that follow the city's flow. They improve the microclimate and bring nature into the daily commute.
• Community Gardens: Spaces of belonging. Here, the community puts its hands in the soil, transforming shared care into strong social bonds.

Why invest in green spaces? The impact of a well-designed public garden is measurable and sensitive:
• Mental Health: Visual and tactile contact with the natural world reduces stress and offers decompression in the routine.
• Environmental Regeneration: They act in urban drainage, heat island reduction, and biodiversity increase.
• Social Cohesion: They democratize leisure, creating meeting points for all ages and profiles.

Plantar in action: Transforming public space Our approach unites technique and poetry to revitalize the urban scenario. Check out three examples where we applied this vision:
1. Vinícius de Moraes Square (SP): With 100,000 m², this space is an immersion in the Atlantic Forest within Morumbi. Our intervention focused on "activating" conviviality through design: we introduced the Bromélia benches, authorial furniture pieces that unite functionality and sculpture, encouraging permanence and interaction.
2. C232 Square (Goiânia): We revitalized this space in Jardim América focusing on the human scale. The project integrated an outdoor gym and playground, transforming a transit area into a welcoming destination for the neighborhood.
3. Luiz Carlos Paraná Square (SP): Proof that urban kindness fits any scale. With 3,900 m², we introduced tropical landscaping and concrete furniture, creating a modern and necessary respite amidst the bustle of Itaim Bibi.

Landscaping as legacy For Plantar Ideias, each project is an opportunity to reconnect people, nature, and cities. We use native species and drainage solutions to ensure that the garden's beauty comes accompanied by ecological responsibility.
